Stop in on an April afternoon to the lovely Loft Gallery on the 3rd floor of the East Student Union at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Meet the artist Linda Stephen, ask questions, see the art exhibit “Illustrations in Origami Art,” touch some of the Japanese handmade papers and tiny origami sculptures that are the raw materials in the artworks. The exhibit includes the brand new commissioned work “Broyhill Fountain in Origami,” featured in the winter issue of UNL alumni magazine Nebraska Quarterly.
On your way to the exhibit or after, stop to pick up a treat at Herbie’s Market on the 1st floor or Starbucks on the 2nd floor – or walk across the arboretum and through the lilac gardens to UNL The Dairy Store. The Loft Gallery includes seating and tables. It is accessible by elevator or by stairs.
The exhibit “Illustrations in Origami Art” runs April 1-30 and is open daily when the East Student Union is open, generally daily 8 a.m. – 10 p.m.
