Crete Public Library: Color Our World with Origami – Paper Folding for All Ages

Explore color and creativity through paper folding! In this hands-on, make-it-take-it papercraft program, award-winning artist, author and illustrator Linda Stephen will share step by step how to fold papers to make easy origami flowers, butterflies and baskets for greeting cards or gifts. This workshop is designed for beginners of any age. Children should be accompanied by an adult. If you can fold a piece of paper neatly in half, you have the basic paper folding skills needed. Materials provided.

Linda is the featured artist for the Blue River Arts Council in May and June. See her origami landscapes and picture book illustrations in the Crete Public Library from May 3-June 28 in the exhibit “Origami Illustrations.”

About the instructor: Linda Stephen has taught origami to thousands of people ages 3 to 97. Her art is part of public and private collections around the world. She works with cities, schools and nonprofits to create collaborative community artworks involving hundreds of people.
